About

Myth Buster

We check claims, headlines and viral posts.

Someone sends you a claim. You open Myth Buster. In a few seconds you should know what was claimed, whether we rate it TRUE, FALSE, MISLEADING, UNPROVEN or still UNDER INVESTIGATION, why, and how to share the verdict.

The check itself can be complicated — court records, news, official registers. The verdict is not. We follow the public record. We do not invent sources, document numbers or figures. Ten reprints of one briefing are one source.

If a record was not located, we say so. That is not the same as saying the record does not exist.

Check a claim

We search encyclopaedias, court records, news and official pages. A viral post is not proof.
